5/8/2023 0 Comments Shuttercount pro![]() ![]() But OMDS had a blow out price on refurb'd Mark 2s back in February (sub-$600) so I grabbed one. I only upgraded from my E-M1.1 this year and while there were things I thought I would benefit from upgrading I also felt my Mark 1 was still serving me very well (it is a great camera) and wasn't looking to move up. I have always had one or two excellent (Pro or Pro level) lenses that have gone with me through many bodies and they were well worth the purchase if one plans on sticking the with same system for future bodies. An early investment in good lenses go with you when you upgrade. That is to say that I don't make money from my camera.Ĭlick to expand.I second this. I'm not a professional photographer but I do like Pro quality gear. Or would you go for the OM-1 kit with the 12-40 and the newer flagship body, and suffer the consequences of not being able to buy more quality PRO glass. What would those of you who have experienced both the M1 Mark III and the OM-1 go for? Take into account that you could purchase more upgraded lenses if purchasing quality used gear all around. ![]() That leaves a lot of cash for additional lens purchasing if I go used. The price difference between the used M1 with lens over the OM-1 kit with lens is $1,551 CDN. The best option if I buy the OM-1 is to buy the kit with lens over the body only offering. I can buy an excellent used 12-40 f/2.8 lens for $649 CDN, perhaps even cheaper if purchased privately. The OM-1 with kit lens is $3,600 in CDN dollars, that features the 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO lens. ![]() I'm now trying to decide on whether to purchase a low shutter count used E-M1 Mark III body (only 7,200 shutter actuations) for $1,400 (CDN $) or a new OM-1 for $2,800 body only. I don't shoot much if any video, my work tends to be photography centric. In my current setup I don't have any PRO glass. I shoot a variety of subjects, but the majority are landscapes, macro photography, portraits and some event work. I don't need a high speed frame rate for what I do. In fact some of the technical features of the older Olympus camera exceeded my expectations. I loved using this camera and the picture quality didn't disappoint, despite no PRO lenses. Before making the move I purchased a lightly used original E-M1.1 and used P20 f/1.7, 60mm f2.8 macro, 40-150 R zoom. I have just sold my Canon 5D Mk IV and lenses and I'm moving over to M43. ![]()
